Abstract submission guidelines
Deadline: 6:00 PM (PST) October 31, 2016
Submit to: Rhodes.email@example.com
Format: Abstracts should be approximately one page in length, single-spaced, in MS Word. Please use this template.
NOTE: You do not need to attend the symposium to have your abstract included in the proceedings.
Each abstract must include:
- Title, full name(s) of all authors name(s), institution address(es), phone numbers and email address(es).
Please indicate who the presenting author(s) are.
- Presentation preference: oral, poster, either, or neither – you do not need to present an abstract to attend the symposium.
- The information presented must be current, contain the study’s specific objectives, materials and methods, and preliminary findings.
Acceptance notification: You will be notified by November 8 if your abstract was accepted as an oral or poster presentation, and detailed presentation guidelines will be sent to presenters at that time.
Presentation Format: The symposium organizers will provide a template for oral power point presentations. Use only MS Office Power Point. Be certain text and images are not too close to the edges. Be certain the image is embedded in the presentation, to avoid the big, bad red X. Oral and PDF of poster presentations should be submitted for uploading, no later than noon, Monday November 15, 2016, with a file size no larger than 24MB. To help reduce the file size, compress your photos before you submit your presentation or convert your poster to a PDF. This can be done by selecting a photo, Format/Picture Tools/Copress Pictures/Screen (150 ppi) good for web and projectors. If you use a video in your presentation, you must also submit the video clip. Videos can be submitted in a separate email attachment. Posters shall be 36”L x 48”W on heavy paper, ready to be taped to a wall.
Web postings: All oral and poster presentations will be formatted into a PDF and posted on the symposium website by January 30, 2017. You may provide an alternate PDF version of your presentation or poster for the website.
